HIFU – High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound
HIFU (High-Intensity Focussed Ultrasound) is an advanced facial rejuvenation treatment at VIVO Clinic Liverpool. HIFU can reduce the signs of ageing and improve the tone of the skin. A single session can have results that last up to two years*.
The HIFU Facelift
Other non-surgical facelift treatments are only capable of targeting the superficial dermis layer of the skin, whereas HIFU can penetrate the dermis as well as the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) layer, which is the same layer that surgeons adjust during a facelift procedure.
Unlike facelift surgery, HIFU is a fraction of the cost and requires none of the downtime*.
All appointments include a free consultation, marking and patch test which will last approximately 30 minutes and will take place before your treatment.

Our HIFU applicator uses three ultrasound beams (see video). Each beam has no effect on its own, however, when the beams converge beneath the surface of the skin they generate a thermal energy point which causes the layer to tighten, contract and form collagen fibres.
As we grow older, the signs of ageing become more apparent in our face as essential collagen proteins begin to weaken, causing crow’s feet and frown lines. Replenishing the collagen and contracting the SMAS layer will lift the face and reinvigorate the skin*.
